Our Process
At R&R Powders, we are committed to our processes, ensuring that we deliver a ceramic and powder coating service that meets our customers' expectations. Our objective is to establish a service that earns your trust, addressing your current needs and those that may arise in the future.

Surface Preparation
Surface preparation for powder coating represents a significant phase in the overall process. This may involve a combination of physical methods, like sanding or media blasting, along with chemical processes to ensure the metal substrate is properly cleaned and prepared for the application of powder coatings.

Outgassing
R&R Powders implements a crucial step of outgassing items before applying powder to ensure that potential defects do not arise during the curing process. This procedure allows for the release of any trapped chemicals or gases within the metal, which could result in bubbles or pinholes in the finished product. We take great pride in our work and adhere to rigorous standards to provide our customers with a satisfactory service.

Powder Coat Application
After the product has been effectively stripped, blasted, cleaned, and outgassed, we move on to the application of powder coating. In this phase, we utilize a high-quality powder coat gun to electrostatically charge the powder, ensuring its bond with the metal substrate. To achieve a desirable aesthetic and a durable finish, multiple coats of powder are applied throughout this operation.

Curing Process
Following the application of powder, the last step is to cure the product. In this process, the powder particles melt and fuse, resulting in a durable and robust finish. To ensure the product is adequately cured, we place it in our 4x4x7 ft oven and bake it at temperatures that range from 300 to 450 °F, depending on the specific powder used and its application requirements.
